Sat 29 Sep 2007  PFA Minor Cup R1
Chatteris Town A 6
Coates Athletic Reserves 1

Scott Ding (1)

FIRST HALF
Conceded 2 goals within 10 mins due to very poor defending. Scott Ding got himself onto the scoresheet to make it 2-1 after an indirect free kick was given inside the area. Coates were back in the game and looked good for the next 4 or 5 mins then totally fell apart letting Chatteris walk through to score 3 more goals before half time.
5-1 down after 45 mins, but it could have been 9 or 10 if Alan Anker wasn’t there.
SECOND HALF
Much better second half. We only conceded 1!! Although we didn’t score, the movement up front was better and chances were created. 2 positives to come out of the game were;
1) Daniel Green (Man of the Match), he never stopped running and held the ball up well.
2) Although we finished the game with only 10 players (more injuries) we didn’t pick up any bookings. I was convinced that Dinger had seen red on more than 1 occasion. The referee must have been watching Chatteris first team for most of the game as he certainly missed a number of incidents on our pitch.

FINAL SCORE: 6-1

SUMMARY
GOALKEEPER & DEFENCE
No Comment – Conceded more in first 45 mins than previous 4 games!!
MIDFIELD
Kept running – mainly chasing.
ATTACK
Won the ball against an organised defence but didn’t really test the keeper.
TEAM
Worst performance of the season (Hopefully) – let down by really dreadful defending.
Injury hit team but no excuse as starting 11 looked as good as we have had all season.
